CS137 - Hope-Centered Coaching: Goals, Pathways, and Agency

What separates a learner who persists through obstacles from one who disappears after the first setback? The answer is rarely skill or effort—it’s hope. This course introduces C. R. Snyder's Hope Theory as a practical coaching framework, equipping you to build three cognitive skills in every learner: the clarity of a meaningful goal, the resilience of multiple pathways, and the drive to act. You will learn to read hope signals in real time, run coaching conversations that activate all three components, and apply the framework across your caseload. This is the first course in the Hope-Centered Coaching series. The companion course expands your toolkit with the CS138 Hope-Centered Model of Career Development and Hope-Action Theory.
